What are the advantages and disadvantages of LCD Projectors?
Adantages
1. Higher lumen output can be delivered by an LCD projector at a lower cost compared to a DLP projector.
2. lt can also provide greater brightness with lower energy consumption.
3. Unlike DLP projectors, LCD projectors do not suffer from rainbow effects and dithering.
4. Another salient feature of LCD projectors is their image sharpness and providing greater zoom magnification.
Disadvantages
1. They can be comparatively bulkier than other projectors, with lesser portability.
2. The LCD panels have a limited lifetime, they do not have high contrast, and may suffer from black and dead pixels.
3. Maintenance can be higher in the case of LCD projectors when compared with other projectors.
4. lf an LCD projector is used frequently over a long period of time, image degradation is possible.
5. They also heat up more quickly than DLP projectors.
